Indonesia’s New Presidential Aircraft 

Indonesia has decided to buy a presidential aircraft typesBoeing 737-800 Business Jet 2 (BBJ2). The plane was purchased for 91.2 million U.S. dollars or about Rp 820 billion. The aircraft is planned to be arrive in the country in August 2013.

The Government argued that if Indonesia has presidential aircraft will make Indonesian budget be more efficient and decrease the budget for president’s trip  than if Indonesia’s President should rent commercial aircraft. And the parlement also agree with this action so Indonesia has asssured to buy the aircraft and Indonesia’s goverment has paid in full this aircraft. And the goverment also say that this aircraft can be used in 35 years so this presidential aircraft not only for Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono cabinet abut also for the next president and the cabinet.

But not all people agree with this action, some people say that this action is only fool away the national budget, because if president use presidential aircraft there isn’t another adventages for Indonesia not like if president go to the foreign country by commercial aircraft like Garuda Indonesia Airlines. If the president go anywhere by comercial aircraft for example garuda indonesia so automatically this action is promotion action to another country and show that Indonesia has big airlines company and has good quality because this company can quarantee the savety of the president.

But the goverment and the parlement still want to buy the presidential aircraft because they has calculate the efficiency if Indonesia has this aircraft. Total efficiency for 35 years is estimated at 388.5 million U.S. dollars. 

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono about 8 yaers be the Indonesia’s president and during this time the president if want to go to anywhere he should rent the special aircrfat to garuda Indonesia, different with previous Indonesia’s President that has the presidential aircraft exept Habibie era. For example President Soeharto has two presidential aircraft that has different size and types and also has the different function, the 1^st  is hercules that made in Indonesia (the domestic product) and this plane is only for domestic trip and the 2^nd airplane is Airbus type and this plane for international trip. For Megawati era Indonesia also has presidential aircraft but only has one airplane, the type is boeing type.

And the goverment say that now is the exact time to buy the newest  presidential aircraft that has very good quality and also has very comfortable facility for the Indonesia’s president because now the econnomic growth of Indonesia is one of the best and the higest econnomic growth in the world and the number of poor people in Indonesia is deacreasing. And also with the presidential aircraft our president will be more save if go to anywhere and the president can give the important instruction in the emergency condition.
